| january 19, 2026 | blippo+ | loved | interdimensional cable: the experience. while the gameplay is minimal, the act of surfing public access tv channels from an alien planet is engrossing. each "show" is so lovingly presented, from the acting to the costumes, and i've gotten attached to these characters. in a time where ai generated slop and half-assed content is so prevalent, i'm so glad this exists. i've found myself pulling up compilations of the "shows" on youtube to keep me company because i found the world so well-realized and comforting. |
| january 8, 2026 | disco elysium | loved, adored, my life is changed | the most annoying person you know is correct - this might be the best game ever made. it's hard for me to put into words how i feel about this game, partially because i laughed and cried out loud so many times. i am so attached to this world and this strange and rich cast of characters. the music and art direction make the world feel so distinct and different from the one we live in, while the human drama at the heart of it all is so familiar. i think i would catch a grenade for lieutenant kim kitsuragi. |
| january 2, 2026 | easy delivery co. | loved | you are a cat driving your delivery truck through snowy little towns, but something *~weird~* is afoot. this was the perfect game to pick up just before christmas and finish just after new year's day. the ambience is unmatched, the animal-crossing-but-spooky style is engrossing and charming, and the gameplay loop is just involved enough to be relaxing. |
| december 23, 2025 | home safety hotline | liked | if there's anything that gets my attention, it's a work simulator. i'm always interested in works of fiction that dive into the horrors of bureacracy and just how weird it can be to have a job. you play as a phone operator for a home security company that helps homeowners with issues ranging from cockroach infestations to rose bushes that eat children. the spooky factor intensifies at a perfect rate. by the time i was advising folks on how to get rid of the dog-faced creature that lives in their basement it felt pretty routine. each call is voice acted, and while i appreciate the levity that brings to the experience i wasn't wowed by all the performances (why is it so hard to get a southern accent right?). i think what i liked most about this game is how it truly made me feel like a minimum wage worker at a call center, mildly annoyed by the people calling in because i just want to finish my paperwork and eat my chicken sandwich. the christmas-themed DLC was a nice touch, but it does have a pretty significant difficulty spike compared to the base game. |
| september 2025 | discopup | loved | a freaky little timeloop game about sneaking into a nightclub only for dogs. i found this through eurothug4000's youtube video, where they describe it as having "Animal Crossing horror, a Lynchian atmosphere, a banger soundtrack..." and i was in! i did hit a wall and have to peek at a guide, but it was still an amazing ride full of twists and turns, charming characters and a banger of a soundtrack. everyone here is unmasked. |
