no one is talking about this - patricia lockwood

my friend catherine gave me this book while i was visiting her in dc, explaining that it was one of the "most keely things" she's ever read. i got through about half of it on my train ride home and i fear i agree. it's a neurotic, harrowing look at what the internet is doing to our brains. i have laughed out loud many times at "CAN A DOG BE TWINS"

now playing

disco elysium

my brother has been trying to get me to play this for almost a year now. i'm about 2 hours in, i haven't accomplished anything of note, but i can already tell this is gonna be a banger. i'm trying not to be freaked out by just how much there is to see, do and read (my GOD is there a lot to read) and just take my time enjoying the world. also it felt soooo good to boot it up on a train.

now listening to

nausicaƤ (love will be revealed) - cameron winter

like everyone else that's exactly my level of Online, i've been swept up in geesemania lately. the new album is great, but it led to me finding frontman cameron winter's solo stuff, which i find even more special. his vocals have a warbly outsider twinge to them that is so expressive and affecting to me. the tender groove of this song has me playing it on repeat.

now watching

smiling friends - season 1

another rec my brother has been trying to put me on forever. this is such a goofy silly stupid ass program but it gets at least one audible laugh out of me per episode. the random unsettling close-up shots remind me of old school spongebob in the best way.
